Sobha Realty Expands into Abu Dhabi with AED 40 Billion Sobha City Masterplan

Sobha Realty, a UAE-based developer, has announced its significant expansion into Abu Dhabi with the introduction of Sobha City, a new master-planned development valued at AED 40 billion. The project, unveiled earlier this year, spans approximately 38 million sq ft in Al Bahiya, strategically located near Yas Island and Zayed International Airport.

Sobha City marks the company's first large-scale residential community in the UAE capital. Envisioned as an integrated, nature-led development, it will feature residences, green spaces, waterfront experiences, and various lifestyle amenities, with nearly 60 per cent of the masterplan dedicated to open and green spaces.

This expansion aligns with Sobha Realty's renewed partnership with the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA), returning as Title Sponsor of IIFA Weekend and Co-Presenting Sponsor of the IIFA Awards 2027. The upcoming IIFA event will be held on 22 and 23 January 2027 at Etihad Arena, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, providing a platform for the developer to engage with Indian audiences globally, who currently account for 20 per cent of its total sales.

Beyond Abu Dhabi, Sobha Realty is also expanding internationally with regional offices and land acquisitions in the United States and Australia. In the UAE, the company currently has 79 million sq ft and over 37,000 homes under construction across three emirates, with plans to hand over more than 6,000 homes in Dubai in 2026, representing a combined sales value of approximately AED 21.6 billion.
