Sweid & Sweid Appoints McLaren Construction for BAY360 Mixed-Use Development in JLT

Sweid & Sweid has announced the appointment of McLaren Construction as the primary contractor for BAY360, an upcoming mixed-use development and lifestyle destination located in Dubai's Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT). The project, which is partly situated on reclaimed land from Lake D, is scheduled for completion in Q1 2028.

BAY360 aims to transform the JLT waterfront by introducing an upscale retail and dining offering, alongside wellness and recreational amenities. The development will feature extensive landscaped areas and new public spaces, designed to create a vibrant community hub. Maher Sweid, Managing Partner of Sweid & Sweid, highlighted that BAY360 is intended to revitalise the underused waterfront, bringing increased activity and life to the area.

Project Scope and Previous Collaboration

McLaren Construction's responsibilities for BAY360 encompass a wide range of works, including site preparation, structural works, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) installations, façade and interior fit-out, and the installation of lifts and escalators. The contractor will also handle all external soft and hard landscaping for the main retail building, office building, and basement car parking areas.

This appointment marks the second collaboration between Sweid & Sweid and McLaren Construction, following their successful partnership on the 6 Falak project in Dubai Internet City. Completed in 2024, 6 Falak is a fully leased Grade A office building that also serves as Sweid & Sweid's headquarters and achieved LEED Gold certification.

Enabling works for BAY360 are now complete, with main construction commencing this month.
