Almal Completes Superstructure for 'The Unexpected' Hotel & Residences on Al Marjan Island

Almal Real Estate Development has announced the completion of the entire superstructure and concrete works for 'The Unexpected Al Marjan Island Hotel & Residences'. This milestone includes the casting of the final upper roof slab, signifying that all major structural elements of the building are now in place.

Construction Progress

With the superstructure finished, construction is now moving into the next phase, focusing on external and internal elements. This includes the installation of the facade and glazing, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, internal partitions, and interior fit-out work. These activities are progressing simultaneously across multiple levels of the development.

Overall construction progress for the project has surpassed 50%, significantly advancing from the 42% recorded by RERA in July 2026. This indicates a rapid pace of development on site, preparing the property for its operational phase.

Project Details

Located on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, The Unexpected is designed as a 422-unit development comprising both hotel and residential units. It will be operated by Palladium Hotel Group under The Unexpected Hotels & Residences brand. A central focus of the project is entertainment, complemented by a range of dining options, a rooftop venue, and beach club experiences, aiming to create a comprehensive commercial ecosystem.
