Dubai Police E-Crime Awareness Platform Exceeds 1.4 Million Visitors in First Year

The Dubai Police e-crime awareness platform has recorded significant public engagement, drawing more than 1.42 million visitors within its first year of operation since launching on 12 July 2025. This strong uptake, reported by the E-Crimes and Cybersecurity Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation, highlights a growing public demand for resources to combat online fraud and cyber threats in the region.

The bilingual platform, accessible at ecrimehub.gov.ae, offers comprehensive content in both Arabic and English, aiming to bolster public awareness and enhance community resilience against cybercrime. It serves as a vital tool in Dubai Police's strategy to educate all segments of society on protecting personal and financial information, and the secure use of digital technologies and smart devices.

The portal addresses a wide spectrum of cyber threats, including phishing, malware, ransomware, and online bullying, alongside various forms of identity theft and financial fraud. It also educates users on sophisticated schemes such as cyber extortion, deepfakes, and threats linked to artificial intelligence and digital impersonation. Common fraud types highlighted include those related to online shopping, banking, fake delivery services, deceptive job offers, travel packages, and romance scams.

Beyond awareness, the platform features a dedicated "Reporting and Recovery" section. This guides users on the appropriate procedures for reporting cybercrimes, managing security breaches, and steps to restore their cybersecurity after experiencing fraud or a cyberattack. Officials emphasise that informed awareness is the primary defence against online criminal activity, especially as digital technology and AI use continue to expand across the UAE.
