Dubai Airport Introduces Instant International Driving Licence Service

Dubai International Airport has launched a new service allowing eligible individuals to acquire an international driving licence instantly. The initiative, a collaboration between the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the Emirates Automobile and Touring Club, and the Amer Centre, aims to simplify travel procedures.

This service is available at the Customer Happiness Centre in Terminal 3 arrivals area and operates 24 hours a day. It enables citizens and residents holding a valid UAE driving licence to obtain an international driving permit in approximately five minutes.

Requirements

To avail of the service, applicants must present the following documents:

• An Emirates ID
• A valid UAE driving licence
• A copy of their passport
• A personal photograph

The process is streamlined through digital integration among the participating entities, facilitating electronic verification of customer data, application approval, and immediate licence issuance. Major General Khalaf Ahmed Al Ghaith, Assistant Director-General for Entry Permits and Residence Affairs, highlighted that this service enhances Dubai's commitment to delivering accessible government services and improving the travel experience for citizens, residents, and visitors.
