Dubai's ONPASSIVE Metro Station Renamed Garmin Under New 10-Year Deal

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a new naming rights agreement, officially renaming the ONPASSIVE Metro Station to Garmin Metro Station. This 10-year deal was secured with Garmin, the global brand known for smartwatches and GPS devices, through their exclusive UAE distributor, AMIT Retail.

The rebranding process, including updates to station signage, digital systems, public transport apps, and onboard audio announcements, is scheduled to take place between September and November 2026. The RTA launched its Station Naming Rights Initiative in 2009, making it the first of its kind globally, to foster public-private partnerships and offer brands a platform to connect with the community.

This station has a history of name changes, initially opening in 2010 as Noor Bank metro station. It was subsequently renamed Al Safa Station in November 2020 and then ONPASSIVE in January 2023, before its latest rebrand to Garmin Metro Station. Located between Al Quoz and Al Safa, it joins other branded stops on Dubai's Red and Green Metro Lines, using the metro network as a high-value investment and branding opportunity.
