Budgeting for a rental

Plan for the annual rent plus a security deposit (5% unfurnished, 10% furnished), an agency fee of around 5%, and DEWA connection costs. Fewer cheques often unlock a lower headline rent.

Knowing your rights

Rent increases are governed by the RERA rental index, and landlords must give 90 days' notice for changes at renewal. Ejari registration is your protection in any dispute.

Always register your tenancy contract with Ejari — it is required for utilities, visas and dispute resolution.
