UAE Extends Visa-on-Arrival Eligibility to South African Passport Holders with US, UK, or Schengen Visas
The UAE has introduced a new visa-on-arrival option for South African passport holders who possess valid tourist or visit visas from the US, UK, or a Schengen country, or a US Green Card.
The United Arab Emirates has expanded its visa-on-arrival scheme, now including South African passport holders under specific conditions. This new policy facilitates easier entry for eligible travellers from South Africa into the UAE, including popular destinations like Dubai.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the visa on arrival, South African passport holders must present one of the following valid documents:
- A valid tourist or visit visa issued by the United States.
- A valid tourist or visit visa issued by the United Kingdom.
- A valid tourist or visit visa issued by a Schengen country (a member state of the Schengen Area).
- A valid US Green Card.
This initiative aims to boost tourism and business travel from South Africa by streamlining the entry process for individuals already holding significant travel documents from other major global economies. Travellers seeking further details on the necessary documentation, validity periods, types of entry permits, and application procedures are advised to consult the official UAE Visa Information page on the Emirates airline website.
