Oppenheim Group Expands to Dubai with New Office in Bluewaters

The Oppenheim Group, famous from the Netflix series 'Selling Sunset', is expanding its global footprint with the establishment of its first real estate office in the UAE. The new 6,500-square-foot office will be located in Bluewaters Dubai and is scheduled to open in December.

The Middle East expansion is being spearheaded by Omar Abaza, a long-standing associate of founder Jason Oppenheim. The new UAE operation plans to launch with a team of 20 brokers and a growing portfolio of luxury residential listings across Dubai, with plans for further expansion in the coming months. Recruitment for this team is already underway, having sifted through over 150 applicants for broker positions.

Despite the current market challenges in Dubai's luxury real estate segment, which has seen asking-price reductions on 3,428 properties amounting to approximately Dh2.4 billion in value, the firm views the UAE as a market with significant potential. This includes exploring sales opportunities in Abu Dhabi. The group highlights the strong presence of investors and high-net-worth end-users in Dubai, attracted by the city's economic appeal.

Omar Abaza noted the high quality of brokers as a key to the firm's success and indicated a desire for the 'Selling Sunset' show to eventually feature their Dubai operations. Jason Oppenheim also expressed his confidence in the UAE as the ideal location for their first Middle East venture, citing Omar Abaza's regional expertise and understanding of the group's ethos.
