Etihad Rail Passenger Services See High Demand Between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah

Etihad Rail's passenger services between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah are seeing robust demand, particularly for weekend and peak travel times, according to the company's booking data. The national railway network has observed that many services in both Comfort and Premium classes are fully booked, reflecting growing public interest in rail travel across the UAE.

Booking information reveals that several Friday departures from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah were fully reserved, including services at 8:19 AM, 1:53 PM, and 6:39 PM. Similarly, Sunday morning Comfort Class services were fully booked, with limited Premium Class seats remaining available.

Etihad Rail reports that passengers are now booking their journeys an average of 12 days in advance, indicating increasing confidence in the service as a reliable transport option for various traveller segments, including families, business professionals, students, leisure travellers, and People of Determination. The company has already sold more than 70,000 tickets since the launch of passenger operations.

Introductory fares for the Abu Dhabi-Fujairah route begin at AED 55 for Comfort Class and AED 120 for Premium Class, with flexible ticket options available. Passengers can plan their trips using the Journey Planner on the Etihad Rail website and mobile application, which also suggests connections to other transport modes like metro services, Etihad Rail buses, taxis, and ride-hailing services. The company continuously monitors travel trends and plans to add capacity as needed.
