Emirates Debuts First Electric Premium Economy Seat with Full-Height Privacy Screen

Emirates has introduced an innovative new electrically powered Premium Economy seat, a pioneering development in global aviation. This seat, making its debut on the airline's newly acquired Airbus A350 aircraft, is distinguished by a full-height adjustable privacy screen positioned between every seat, a first for Premium Economy cabins worldwide.

The new configuration features 28 Premium Economy seats in a 2-3-2 layout. Passengers can electronically raise or lower the privacy divider to create a more secluded environment for various activities like relaxing, dining, or working during the flight. Each seat offers 20 inches of width and a pitch of up to 39 inches on the A350.

Additional features include a cradle recline mechanism that prevents intrusion into the row behind, an integrated Passenger Control Unit with dedicated lounge and meal modes, and Emirates' U-Dream headrest by Safran Seats, which offers adjustable wings for neck and head support. A manually deployable leather footrest is also provided to enhance comfort.

Connectivity has been upgraded with the inclusion of wireless charging for the first time in Premium Economy, alongside USB-C charging ports at every seat and a tray table designed with an integrated phone holder. The new A350s also incorporate additional exterior aircraft cameras, complementing the existing forward and downward views.
