ADIB Launches 24/7 Real-Time EGP Transfers to Egypt from the UAE

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has introduced a new service enabling customers in the UAE to send Egyptian Pounds (EGP) in real-time to eligible bank accounts across Egypt. This makes ADIB the first bank in the UAE to offer this capability through the Visa Direct network, providing round-the-clock transfers.

How it Works

Customers can initiate these EGP transfers directly via the ADIB Mobile App. The funds are delivered instantly to the recipient's bank account in Egypt, irrespective of traditional banking hours, weekends, or public holidays. This service aims to enhance the speed, certainty, and convenience of remittances to Egypt, a significant corridor for the UAE.

Egypt represents one of the most vital remittance corridors for the UAE, with cross-border transfers playing a crucial role in supporting families and daily financial needs. The new service integrates ADIB's digital banking infrastructure with Visa Direct's global money movement network, facilitating fast and secure real-time transfers to eligible cards, bank accounts, and digital wallets in Egypt. This initiative builds on ADIB's earlier partnership with Visa to launch its 'Remit' proposition, which provides access to Visa Direct's network for transfers to over 18 billion eligible cards, digital wallets, and accounts globally.
